Here’s a super cute video of a cat and a rabbit who love each other very much.

This very affectionate cat reminds me so much of my little brother Mishimi, whom I rescued from the streets of Rio last April. Take a look at a picture of Mishimi now, spoiled rotten at my parents’ home.

This Cat Fashion Show didn’t seem like a good idea to me. I know only one cat who enjoys being dressed up — Lorenzo. All other cats I’ve met would rather have a root canal than attend an event of this kind.

The blog where I found these pictures stated that photographer Katie Sokoler thought some cats were nervous because the audience was popping camera flashes in their faces and screaming to the cats in baby talk.

Even though the outfits are cute, all the cats seem uncomfortable or stressed. Am I delusional? Or do you feel the same way?

Surf Dog Ricochet, who has won several surf dog contests to raise awareness and funds for human and animal causes, teamed up with Endless Pools to make a brain-injured two year old’s dream come true.

Ricochet catching some waves. (Photo courtesy of Ricochet)

A $11,000 therapy pool will be delivered to Finnley in the next couple of weeks as part of Ricochet’s fund raiser for her.

Finnley was born with brain damage because oxygen was cut off to her brain during delivery. She was expected to live up to 72 hours, but 2 years later she is still here, willing to go on. Her brain damage caused cerebral palsy, seizures and vision impairment. She can’t walk or talk. But she appreciates live very much. She is even fond of classical music.

Her cerebral palsy tightens her muscles, but when in a pool, she’s able to move her arms and legs. Her parents have been saving to purchase a therapeutic swimming pool, so Finnley can get the daily therapy she needs, but who knows how long it would take for them to raise $ 11,000.

When Ricochet heard about their situation, she started fundraising for Finnley right away. Ricochet came up with the idea of calling Endless Pools to see if the company would be willing to help her make Finnley’s dream come true even sooner.

The company offered a 60% discount. The funds Ricochet raised, coupled with the discount meant the family only had to come up with $2560, which they had in an account from previous fundraising they’ve done.

Finnley’s mom, Care, was in tears when she heard the news. And even though Finnley doesn’t talk, she broke out into a huge smile. Thank you, Ricochet and Endless Pools for being so compassionate!

I know it would be just easier to place your cat’s food dish beside the water bowl. That’s what I did for the longest time. But your cat won’t appreciate it.

The cat food bowls here at home are separated from the water.

I’ve learned from cat behaviorist Pam Johnson-Bennet that we should keep food and water separate for our kitties.

Apparently cats don’t like to come drink water and smell food nearby. If they don’t feel like drinking water because it’s not been a great experience, they might get dehydrated in the long run – and most cats already drink less water than they should.

Also, if you place the bowl side by side, the food can end up in the water bowl and vice versa — not a good thing either. Water in the food bowl may spoil the food faster and even make it less palatable. Food in the water bowl may contaminate the water – the perfect environment for bacteria growth.

This means that double dishes are not a good idea. And, by the way, most of them are made of plastic, which is not the most recommended material for a pet bowl anyway. Metal bowls are the safest ones, since they don’t break or gather bacteria so easily. Read a review on the food bowls we use at home.

When I recently posted the story of Christian the pet lion cub, who received a visit of his former owners in the African wild and treated them with great affection, I didn’t know I would soon see this amazing video, below.

These lion cubs residing at The Wild Animal Sanctuary, near Keenesburg, CO, have been coached by dogs to learn how to behave in a pack before they are introduced to the wild with adult lions. By simulating fights during play time with the dogs, the cubs — just like dogs and domestic cats — learn social rules.

Take a look at this super cute Bulldog teaching the cubs a lesson!

The Wild Animal Sanctuary is the oldest and largest nonprofit sanctuary in the U.S. dedicated exclusively to rescuing captive exotic and endangered large carnivores. If you’re interested in visiting the organization, you are very welcome.

The place is open for visitors year round, daily, from 9 a.m. to 4 p.m., except major holidays and bad weather. During summer, from Memorial Day to Labor Day, the sanctuary extends hours from 9 a.m. till sunset.

Thanks, Neil, for posting this wonderful video on Life with Dogs!

PS: I was so happy to see the cubs also had a tiger ball, just like Geppetto’s! Click to watch my Berner reviewing his tiger ball on video!
