On December 29, we featured a wonderful video of Stanley’s rescue from a high-kill shelter. This one dog inspired so many people, the video went viral.

I thought you’d like to know that Stanley is now living in Port Alberni, Canada, in a foster home, and doing much better. He’s recovering from his many ailments and so happy to be in a home.

Dave Schofield, who rescued Stanley (he runs Respect-A-Bull Dog Rescue in Alberni), urges anyone thinking of getting a dog to check animal shelters.

He says there are so many people wanting to adopt Stanley. But at all local animal shelters, he says, plenty of great dogs like Stanley are still waiting to be rescued.

Hi there! I'm an extra-special little girl! My name is Lyric and I am a spritely young girl that loves to play, run, and socialize. I have a lot of energy because I am still a puppy but with the right exercise and training, I will be a great pet! Besides all my other unique qualities, I'm also deaf. You would never know unless I'm sound asleep and you're trying to get my attention. I will be an expert at dog training and anything you want to teach me. Want to know why? Because I'm deaf I constantly look at you and check in with you to make sure I'm not missing anything you're trying to tell me. I'm the most attentive dog you will ever meet! I used to live with kids and was great with them, but I can be quite a handful so older kids that can withstand being knocked down are the best fit for me. So if you think we would be a good fit, then ask the staff for more info about me!!! Then we can spend some time together and bond.
