Video: Titan, tallest dog is deaf and blind

By Daniela Caride Publisher

Did you know Titan, the world’s tallest dog, is deaf, blind and epileptic?

This gorgeous 4-year-old white Great Dane from San Diego, CA, weighs 190 pounds and is 42.25 inches tall, measuring from floor to shoulder.

Titan’s owner, Diana Taylor, adopted him as a puppy from a Great Dane rescue. Diana communicated with Titan through sign language while he still had the vision of one eye. When he became blind, she taught him to communicate by touch.

Titan took over the title last November, previously held by Gibson, a 7-year-old harlequin Great Dane from Grass Valley, CA. Gibson, who was 42.2 inches tall, passed away earlier this year after battling bone cancer.

Titan reminds me of Evelyn, a playful blind and deaf dog who lives at Rolling Dog Ranch in Montana. Her disabilities never stopped her from enjoying life.

We have a lot to learn from dogs.
