Three pet food recalls have been announced recently. Please check your bags if you feed your pets any of these brands.

Diamond Pet Foods issued a voluntary recall on the following date codes of PREMIUM EDGE FINICKY ADULT CAT and PREMIUM EDGE HAIRBALL CAT:
• RAF0501A22X 18lb
• RAF0501A2X 6 lb
• RAH0501A22X 18 lb
• RAH0501A2X 6lb
The cat foods were deficient in thiamine. An affected cat could show neurological problems and should be immediately taken to a veterinarian.
Signs seen with thiamine deficiency:
• Weakness
• Lack of appetite (not eating)
• Staggered “drunk” gait
• Neck curved downward (cervical ventroflexion)
• Tremors
• Seizures

Wysong Pet Foods found mold in some bags of Wysong dry extruded foods manufactured in June and July of 2009. Don’t feed your pet any food from batches of WYSONG MAINTENANCE from the following lots:
• 090617
• 090624
• 090706
• 090720
• 090623
The company states that the problem stems from “unusually high heat and humidity on those summer dates combined with a malfunctioning moisture checking device.”
